Michael Rodgerson, Ph.D., received his Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 1978 from the University of Nebraska. Previously, in 1967, he earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois.   He has been in private practice at the Psychology Center of Lincoln, Nebraska, since 1980.  Prior to that he had extensive experience working at community mental health centers.  He has also consulted with two large medical practices in Nebraska, where he gained considerable understanding of interactions between medical and psychological issues.

Dr. Rodgerson’s primary interests in practice have been therapy for relationship problems, depression, anxiety and panic disorders, childhood trauma, and alcoholism and related problems.  He uses a variety of cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented approaches the are aimed at solving problems through greater understanding and changing thinking and behavior.  Dr. Rodgerson is known for his genuineness, acceptance and “straight talk” in therapy.  He strives to be empathic and to see the irony and humor in life, and attempts to empower clients to greater independence in thought and action so they can feel satisfied with the person they are becoming.
